QA Manager

**: This position reports directly to the QA Director, Asia. Based at the respective sites, the person will manage a team consisting of QC supervisors and technicians. Spearheads the quality initiatives and programs for the site. On a day to day basis, make decisions for product disposition, administrating customer complaint handling and tracking of quality key performance indicators. As needs arise may be expected to spearhead root cause analysis and lead cross functional teams in quality improvement initiatives.**

Responsibilities may include occasional visits to customers to understand requirements or complaints, and visits to key vendors for supplier audits. The person will be the Management Representative for the site and is accountable for the sustainability and continual improvement of the Quality Management System.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Supervises staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Develop and maintain Quality KPIs that
- Indicate health of the Quality System
- Indicate process capabilities
- Indicate effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
- Drive profitability by reducing internal and external failures
- Work closely with counterparts in other regions to establish Best Practices and ensuring these are documented, understood and deployed in the plant.
- Manages the QC section to ensure timely completion of QC tests and general smooth operation of the section.
- Overseeing process for internal and external complaints to drive for timely closure of investigations and validating efficacy of corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and lead internal audit program.
- Spearhead, develop and champion tactical initiatives for site quality improvement programs based on regional strategies.
- Site Quality Management Representative.
- Develop Vendor Management Program.
- Administers and monitors the departmental budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures; budget scope is small in nature.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Seven to ten years of progressive quality experience within a manufacturing environment (experience in a chemical batch plant is a plus), including a minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience.
- Experience in process engineering is an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001:2008 standards is essential, with a proven track record of leading or major involvement with implementation and successful certification desirable.

- Proven track record of working with cross functional teams;
- Good critical, analytical and economic thinking skills;
- Good working knowledge of SPC, statistical methods and techniques, FMEA and Root Cause Analysis;
- Excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 quality standards;
- Excellent written and oral communication in English is essential; proficiency in a second language is an advantage;
- Ability to communicate effectively and get along with all levels within and outside the site.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
