Industrial Relations Specialist

**Job Brief**:

Point of contact to advise on industrial related matters including but not limited to counselling & disciplinary matters, termination, grievances, investigations, and employment legislation. This role will contribute to the maintenance, development and implementation of policies and procedures, in alignment with current Malaysian legislation and industry best practice.
Works with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the business adopts an effective approach in engaging staff on matters in relations to IR.
**Responsibilities**:
The IR Specialist is accountable for providing advice on industrial related matters including but not limited to counselling & disciplinary matters, termination, grievances, investigations, and employment legislation. This role will contribute to the maintenance, development and implementation of policies and procedures, in alignment with current Malaysian legislation and industry best practices. This role required to works with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the business adopts an effective approach in engaging staff on matters in relation to IR.
**1. Manage industrial relations matters**:
- _Comprehensive planning in resolving company-wide disciplinary matters - including conducting investigation and holding domestic inquiries.
- _Provide support, guidance and recommendations to the business in managing risk to the business.
- _Process labour disputes and grievances in a proper and timely manner
- _Monitor and ensure Company-wide compliance by educating managers on a range of employment laws topics to ensure legal compliance**2. Project manage the company's Code of Business Practice**:
- _Review of the Code in ensuring that it is in line with the Company’s initiatives and aspiration
- _Manage the annual employee acknowledgement exercise and ensure compliance with the Code by the employees
- _Create and initiate awareness sessions / organize awareness programs**3. Maintain cordial relationship with government authorities i.e. labour office, industrial relations department, external counsels, government authorities, etc**
**4. Defalcation Committee on staff-related issues - Project manage action items.**
**5. Roll out company-wide compliance initiatives on a quarterly basis.**
**6. Preventive education and process enhancement to fix current gaps and loopholes which includes best practice sharing to employees in town halls, employee engagement opportunities by updating the latest policies adopted by forward-leaning companies that the company aspires to be and keeping the organization abreast with the latest in this field.**
**Job Requirements**:
- Possess at least Bachelors Degree in Human Resources and Labour Law or LLB
- Minimum total relevant experience of 7 years in Industrial Relations matters or any related field.
- Expert with excellent knowledge and skill in Industrial Relations, Employment Acts, Labour Laws and Counselling & Coaching.
- Contractual roles, renewable or conversion of employment type based on performance.
