**Duties and Responsibilities**:
1) Classes/Practical Assistance
- Preparation of equipment and materials required for practical session
- Manage and care for all living specimens used for practical
- Setting up equipment and materials to support practical teaching including assembling apparatus and making up solutions (which may include caustic chemicals)
- Prepare chemical solutions following standardized formulas or create experimental formulas
- Constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, titrators, pipetting machines and pH meters
- Clean and maintain work areas before and after practical session
- Perform tests on reagents/equipment to make sure that they meet standards and specifications

2) Technical Assistance
- Performing technical duties related to the science laboratory activities, including giving technical assistance
- Participates in and contributes to the upkeep of the laboratories by assisting instructors regarding laboratory procedures, location and use of materials and the operation of equipment
- Coordinate and/or perform the movement, storage, setup, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic laboratory and demonstration equipment
- Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses
- Responsible for helping lecturers to conduct experiments in laboratories
- To prepare audio-visual equipment and teaching aids for teaching staff
- Practical Examination
- Assist the lecturers in conducting practical lessons and examination
- Prepare lab materials and resources for the practical exam
- Maintaining the resources and the lab for practical exam

3) Inventory
- Ensure an inventory of all equipment and stock is maintained and/or replaces when required
- Maintain and organized laboratory inventory
- To ensure adequate stocks of glassware, tools, chemicals and consumables in laboratories
- Maintain service report/certificate and other lab related documents e.g. MSDS

4) Lab Safety
- Ensure safety regulations are complied with in relation to the use and storage of all substances and chemicals
- Maintain a safe effective storage system for all equipment, chemicals and other stock in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Participates in and contributes to a safe environment in the laboratories by keeping current with safety regulations

5) Cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory

6) Purchasing and sourcing
- Sourcing and purchasing of reagent and consumable materials
- To meet sales representatives who visit the school and provide specification of the requested item

**Qualifications & Education**:

- Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific disciplines.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an academic or educational environment, where practical work and technical assistance are involved.

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
