**Role Purpose**

The Laboratory Technologist supports the Senior Lab Technologist and Assistant Lab Manager in the management of MDLs, organization of practical sessions and to ensure all the lab sessions are conducted smoothly and in an efficient manner.

**Principal Accountabilities**
- **Laboratory Administration**:_
- preparing and reviewing checklist for assigned practical modules before practical session starts
- to correspond with the lecturer in-charge of the assigned modules to determine the necessary requirement and arrangements before practical session starts
- to update purchaser on changes on requirement for the assigned modules at the end of the semester
- Laboratory Section officer (LSO) to in charge of Preparatory Room 1
- **Laboratory Management**:_
- involving in practical session preparation, set-up, and clearing
- be the person in charge or assist at least two (2) times in a week or forty-eight (48) times in 6 months or less involvement during non-peak period (MDL practical session).
- carrying out trial experiments for existing practical and new practical
- involvement in the MDLs management team activities
- carrying out stock take for Preparatory Room 1 at the end of the semester
- ensuring sufficient supply of laboratory stock for the day-to-day operation for Preparatory Room 1
- to make sure the cleanliness and tidiness in the laboratories
- to distribute the tasks among the preparatory room members to take care of the safety and cleanliness of MDL1, MDL2, Instrument room 1 and preparatory room 1
- comply with the GLP
- **Budget and Purchases**:_
- to submit necessary forms related to inventory management work processes
- to assist the Senior Laboratory Technologist to identify necessary requirement to purchase
- **Care and Maintenance of Equipment**:_
- to carry out the routine maintenance as stipulated in the MDLs Maintenance Guidelines
- List of equipment : Microscope, Micropipette, Analytical Balance, pH meter etc
- **Supervisory Responsibility**:_
- supervising Laboratory Assistants on technical issues when necessary
- **Other Tasks**:_
- to undertake any other work or tasks assigned by the Senior Lab Technologist or Assistant Laboratory Manager from time to time

**Job Requirements**
- At least 1 - 3 years of laboratory working experience
- A Bachelor of Science in a related field required
- Must have a Science background
- Video shooting and video editing skills on teaching and learning activities (eg. Equipment handling and lab procedures)
- Familiar with laboratory equipment
- Familiar with good laboratory practice guidelines

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: RM2,040.00 - RM3,700.00 per month
