MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

A well-known, established hospital founded in 1881, currently expanding, is looking for talent to join us.

So what is your role be?

  • You are required to attend and assist patients at the reception counter when necessary.
  • You are required to withdraw blood and collect urine specimens from out-patients.
  • You will need to make order entry into HIS and LIS for all outpatient and in-patient cases, including requests that are to be sent to the external laboratories.
  • You will need to collect laboratory fees/charges from the outpatients when necessary.
  • You will need to check and receive outpatient specimens and in-patient specimens from the wards and ensure that all required specimens are correctly received.
  • You will need to record all request to be sent to the external laboratories into the respective Specimen Record Book and to issue request form for the panel laboratory as necessary.
  • You will need to check that bills/invoices from all panel laboratories are correctly issued and received.
  • You will need to monitor and request supply, including all necessary specimen containers and request forms, from the external laboratories.
  • You will need to check reports and record date received from the external laboratories into respective specimen book and then dispatch the reports to the wards and clinics.
  • You are required to monitor and ensure proper quality control of all tests so that all results reported are of the highest quality.
  • You will need to arrange with Pusat Darah Negara (PDN) or other Blood Banks for supply of blood and blood components where necessary.
  • You will need to maintain the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory.
  • To assist and cooperate in other areas of work within the laboratory when requested.

Who are we looking for?

  • Candidate must possess Diploma / Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or related discipline.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English, Bahasa Malaysia and / or Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
