**Responsibilities**:
**Risk Assessment and Management**:

- Identify workplace hazards and risks.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits.
- Develop strategies to reduce risk.

**Safety Policies and Procedures**:

- Create and communicate safety policies.
- Ensure employee awareness and adherence.
- Provide training on safety protocols.

**Accident Investigation**:

- Investigate accidents and near-misses.
- Implement corrective actions.
- Analyze trends for prevention.

**Emergency Preparedness**:

- Design emergency response plans.
- Coordinate drills and training.
- Ensure employee familiarity with procedures.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Stay updated on safety regulations.
- Obtain required permits and licenses.

**Hazard Communication**:

- Label hazardous materials correctly.
- Train employees on safe handling and disposal.

**Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)**:

- Assess and enforce proper PPE usage.
- Maintain PPE records.

**Health and Wellness**:

- Promote employee health initiatives.
- Address ergonomic concerns.

**Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
- Prepare reports on safety activities and incidents.

**Requirements**:

- Possess a valid Safety and Health Officer (SHO) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of local safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and produce detailed reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- **Mandatory**:Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Malay, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including teams in China.
