Contract & Commercial Manager

Oversees all contractual and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, managing risks, and optimizing commercial outcomes. Responsible for directing and overseeing contracts throughout their lifecycle, serving as the liaison between companies, employees, customers, vendors, and independent contractors to ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget and timeline constraints. Commercial management entails ensuring contract compliance, serving as the primary point of contact for service and dispute resolution issues, as well as managing any payments or contractual clauses.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and manage contract and commercial matters within the Company, including the negotiation, drafting, and administration of contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers, ensuring alignment with project objectives and company policies.
- Ensure timely supervision of monthly progress claims, including final claims, to accurately assess project progress and facilitate prompt payments.
- Monitor contract performance, including deliverables, milestones, and payments, and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with contracts, including variations, claims, and disputes.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure contractual requirements are understood and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Analyse project costs, budgets, and financial reports to optimize commercial outcomes and identify areas for cost savings.
- Lead or support contract negotiations and dispute resolution processes, seeking favourable terms while preserving business relationships.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to contract and commercial management, and incorporate relevant insights into project strategies.
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks, duties, and responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Manager from time to time.
Requirement
- Strong understanding of contract law, commercial principles, and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex contractual and financial data and make informed decisions.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in contract drafting and review.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability and resilience to navigate changing project requirements and evolving market conditions in the railway industry.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
