**Overview**

The **Assistant Principal - Secondary Division / Science Teacher** plays a dual leadership and instructional role at UCSI Schools. As a member of the school’s leadership team, the Assistant Principal supports the Principal and Deputy Principal in managing the academic and operational aspects of the Secondary Division. This position also includes teaching responsibilities within the Science faculty, modeling best practices in pedagogy. The Assistant Principal contributes to strategic planning, staff development, student wellbeing, and curriculum delivery, while also maintaining a strong classroom presence to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.

**Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Academic Management**
- Assist the Principal and Deputy Principal in leading the academic development of the Secondary Division.
- Support the planning, implementation, and review of curriculum and assessment practices.
- Monitor teaching standards and student outcomes through lesson observations and data analysis.
- Promote innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment strategies within the Secondary Division.

**Science Teaching (Subject Specialist)**
- Teach Science (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology) to students in the Secondary Division, delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards.
- Track student progress and provide targeted feedback to support academic improvement.
- Integrate technology and inquiry-based learning into Science instruction.

**Staff Development & Mentorship**
- Support the professional growth of teachers through mentoring, coaching, and facilitating training workshops.
- Assist in performance appraisal processes, offering constructive feedback and development pathways.
- Foster a collaborative and reflective teaching culture among staff.

**Student Welfare & Discipline**
- Support the implementation of student management policies and uphold discipline standards.
- Work with pastoral teams to monitor student wellbeing and provide interventions where necessary.
- Encourage student engagement through leadership programmes, extracurricular activities, and academic support.

**Operational Support & Administration**
- Contribute to timetable planning, staff allocation, and daily school operations.
- Assist in the coordination of school events, examinations, and parent meetings.
- Ensure school policies and procedures are consistently applied across the Secondary Division.

**Compliance & Quality Assurance**
- Support the school’s compliance with educational regulations, accreditation standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and reviews, contributing to the school’s continuous improvement efforts.

**Community & Stakeholder Engagement**
- Maintain effective communication with parents, students, and staff.
- Represent the Secondary Division in school meetings, events, and external functions.
- Support enrolment and promotional initiatives, enhancing the profile of the Secondary Division.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Science-related field (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology); Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Professional teaching qualification and registration.
- Minimum 8-10 years of teaching experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership, coordinator, or management role.
- Experience in teaching Science at the secondary level in an international or national curriculum setting.
- Familiarity with school operations, curriculum planning, and student welfare programmes.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
