Assistant Production Manager

Job Description

Provide management skills, direction and operational leadership to Production Department for safe and stable operations to ensure delivery of high quality Butadiene Rubber (BR) product to meet company’s target. Ensure the highest safety standard, rules and procedures are adhered to. Also equally emphasis on SHE principle for optimum efficiency during plant operation.

**Responsibility**:
Manage the production/operation activities to produce high quality Butadiene Rubber (BR) in safe and stable manner and high efficiency by:
Directing production resources to implement Company’s annual and long-term plans.
Formulate production objectives, strategies and plans to meet Company's targets for a continuous safe and stable operations and optimizing output and productivity.

Develop plans with Quality Control, Material Control, Marketing, and Maintenance
departments to ensure product and raw materials availability and acceptance at all times.

Analyze plant performance in terms of material and energy utilization and product quality and provide solutions and measures to improve plant optimization, reliability and low cost operations.

Investigate, study and identify new technology and opportunities for lower production cost and improve production capabilities and direct production resources to implement cost reduction etc.

Develop human resources by providing opportunities to production staffs to improve supervisory, engineering and operational knowledge and skills.

Adhere to safety rules and procedures. Encourage peer and team member to adopt the established safety code, practices and regulatory requirement.

Provide effective leadership and management skills to sustain continuous safe and stable operations.

Develop long-term plans to provide resources and opportunities for staffs training and to support Training Development Programs for staffs.

Manage Safety and Environmental Control Policy for the Department. A member of Management team to oversee that Company’s Policy and Plan are implemented and provide support to Develop Company’s Quality Plan and SHE Policy.

Accountable for effective planning, control and execution of annual production budget.

Responsible to advice Plant Manager on plant conditions or take necessary countermeasures so as to maintain continuous safe and stable operations.

Develop and maintain good liaison with external parties such as UBE (process Licensors), government bodies such as DOSH, TNB, JBE, and within LOTTE Group of Companies.

Support the development of Production Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Approval of the documents and any other documents as and when required.

Coordinate plant troubleshooting activities with other departments to ensure quick and effective plant/process turnaround.

Train, develop and supervise subordinate to achieve overall departmental improvement, efficiency and effectiveness.

Support, promote and participate in all Company related programs and action plans in relation to Integrated Management System (quality, environment, safety and health) and other programs which can lead to continual improvement, legal compliances, and improvement in staff competency/ awareness.

Other job tasks assigned by Superiors within the job scopes/job specifications and related job tasks to comply with legal and other requirements which Company subscribes.

Requirement

Have minimum 8 years experience in Plant Operation especially in Petrochemical process

Have skills or knowledge in prepare SOP, operation budget, able to manage shift team, process troubleshooting, knowledge in ISO 9001/14001, plant operation, production planning, MRP, Contract Agreement

Having professional certificates such as Environmental Control Equipment, AGT, Steam Engineer or DCS is added advantage

Able to communicate in English & Bahasa Malaysia

Applicant must be willing to work in Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang

On job training and Off job training will be provided
Lotte Ube Synthetic Rubber Sdn. Bhd. is a new petrochemical company in Pasir Gudang (Tanjung Langsat Industrial Estate). We just started our commercial operation as the 1st manufacturer of Synthetic Rubber (butadiene rubber) in Malaysia.

The Company is a joint venture among the established multi-national corporations (i.e. Lotte Chemical Corporation of South Korea, and Ube Industries Ltd.Japan). The new plant in Pasir Gudang will have the capacity to produce 50,000 tons of Synthetic Rubber annually.

Lotte Chemical Corporation with two butadiene plants in South Korea (Daesan and Yeosu) and Lotte Chemical Titan in Malaysia, is having an annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes annually. Whilst Ube Industries Ltd maintain a global production of synthetic rubber via its existing plants in Japan, China and Thailand with overall annual capacity of 436,000 tonnes.
