Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing, and engagement.
We are currently seeking for an industry professional with a proven track record to join our team in the role of **Manager, Employee Relations**.
The role holder will assist the Head of Employee Relations, Malaysia and manage all matters relating to employee relations to balance the needs of the organisation whilst maintaining a stable industrial relations climate with the unions in HSBC Malaysia. In addition, he/she will assist on high level investigations and conduct investigation and PCC related training to the HR Advisory team.
**Principal Accountabilities**:
- Implement programmes/initiatives to build a positive industrial relations climate and achieve industrial harmony in the Bank.
- Advice and support line managers to resolve all aspects of IR and disciplinary issues; including conducting investigations/domestic inquiries and handling grievances.
- Prepare salary and benefits comparison of unionised categories of employees within the Banking Industry for CA negotiation including recommendations and costing of proposal.
- Manage and resolve people-related business issues concerning all unionised categories of employees via effective discussions/consultations with Union Officials.
- Review/recommend changes to the Bank HR/employee relations policy, practice and procedure to ensure full conformity with the Malaysian laws and Groups values.
- Work with business partners, unions & employees in managing/solving grievances/disputes.
Requirements
- Those with a recognised law degree will have an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and social-networking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English with good working knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia.
- Good aptitude and “street-smart” in dealing with all aspects of industrial/employee relations.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Team player with an energetic and flexible working style.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Proactive approach in resolving problems and conflict resolution.
- HR experience/knowledge and good understanding of the Employment/Labour Law would be advantageous.
- A specialised knowledge of industrial/employee relations including Collective Agreement negotiations is a must
