Assistant Accounts Manager

MAIN DUTIES - Report and assists the Group Finance Manager and Finance Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Division, ensuring that all the policies and procedures outlined in the Departmental Operations Manual are strictly adhered to. - Supervise and ensure smooth functioning of the responsible areas, namely General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Cashiering, Income Audit, Cost Control, Stores and Receiving. - Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines. - Maintain fixed assets register, ensure proper and easy identification of fixed assets, stocks and operating equipment. - Monitor operational and administrative costs closely. - Enforce credit policies, monitor debtors aging and implement effective collection techniques. - Prepare and submit tax returns and surveys on a timely basis to the respective government departments. - Coordinate closing of annual accounts, year-end external audit and statutory reporting. - Ensure confidentiality of information at all times, functions assigned are carried out in accordance to Hotel's policies, procedures, applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements. - Provide training, supervise and appraise all subordinates under your responsibility. - Assists to conduct Departmental Communication Meetings as scheduled. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
