With a focus on both **sea freight** and **air freight**, we ensure timely and safe delivery of perishable products between West Malaysia and East Malaysia. We are looking for an **Assistant Freight Manager** to coordinate all aspects of freight operations, act as a liaison between customers and freight operators, and be present on-site at the warehouse during loading to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

**Job Summary**:
As an **Assistant Freight Manager**, you will play a critical role in coordinating shipments of perishable goods. You will act as the primary point of contact between customers and freight operators, ensuring that all shipments are handled efficiently and in compliance with temperature control standards. Additionally, you will be required to be on-site at the warehouse during container loading to ensure smooth and accurate operations. The role involves working at both our **office in Bayu Tinggi, Klang** and our **warehouse at Telok Gong**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Freight Coordination & Communication**: Act as the **freight agent**, coordinating between customers, freight operators, and internal teams to ensure that shipments run smoothly and on schedule.
- Work closely with **sea freight** and **air freight** operators to ensure timely and efficient transportation of perishable goods.
- Communicate with customers to confirm shipment details, provide updates, and address any concerns or changes in shipment schedules.
- **On-Site Warehouse Supervision**: Be present on-site at the **warehouse** during the loading of containers. Ensure that all perishable goods are loaded according to temperature control requirements and are properly secured for transport.
- Oversee the proper use of **refrigerated containers** (reefer units) for sea freight and temperature-controlled air cargo for air freight.
- Ensure that goods are handled carefully to prevent spoilage, damage, or contamination.
- **Temperature-Controlled Shipments**: Ensure that perishable goods are transported under the correct temperature conditions throughout the logistics chain, from warehouse loading to final delivery.
- Monitor and verify that all temperature-sensitive goods are packed, loaded, and transported according to cold chain requirements.
- **Customer Inquiry Management**: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing clear and accurate information regarding the status of shipments, permits, and regulations. Answer any questions about the necessary permits for shipping perishable goods to East Malaysia.
- Advise customers on **local food safety regulations**, **health permits**, and other regulatory requirements for perishable goods shipments.
- Provide guidance on any special handling or transport considerations, ensuring that all logistics processes are aligned with customer needs.
- **Vendor & Carrier Management**: Build and maintain relationships with freight carriers, cold storage facilities, and logistics providers. Ensure all parties understand the special handling requirements for perishable goods.
- Coordinate the booking and transport of goods, ensuring that vendors and carriers meet quality and timing requirements.
- **Documentation & Compliance**: Ensure that all necessary shipping documentation is prepared and completed, including bills of lading, air waybills, and any permits required for transporting perishable goods.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, food safety standards, and health permits specific to transporting perishable goods within Malaysia.
- **Shipment Tracking & Monitoring**: Monitor the status of shipments in real-time, tracking the movement of goods from origin to destination. Address any delays, issues, or discrepancies promptly to prevent spoilage or product loss.
- **Problem Resolution**: Address any logístical issues that arise during the shipment process, such as delays, damage, or spoilage. Take immediate action to minimize the impact on the product and ensure customer satisfaction.
- **Cost Management**: Assist in managing the freight budget, identifying cost-effective transportation solutions for sea and air shipments while maintaining high standards of service and safety for perishable goods.
- **Process Improvement**: Suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency in logistics processes, reduce costs, and enhance the safe handling of perishable goods.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
