1. Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Technology or any related field with certified pastries

training
- Minimum 20 years of working experience in food innovation or new products development
- Proven managerial experience of more than 10 years
- Obtained Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) of Level N1
- Solid product knowledge of more than 1000 products produced by ADEKA Corporation and

more than 300 types of products produced by ADEKAFoods Asia (AFA) and ADEKA
Singapore (ADS).

2. Job Requirement
- Expert in oil chemistry
- Possesses Analytical skills for formulated processed fats and oils
- Expert in bakery science
- Possesses General Knowledge in raw materials of food processing
- Possesses Practical skills in developing baking and confectionaries recipes

3. Job Function
- Fully responsible to research and development activities of producing safe, soft, delicious

bread and confectionery to consumers in Malaysia as well in Southeast Asia by utilizing
technologies manufacturing fat and oil developed by ADEKA Corporation
- Conduct research on products produced by AFA such as margarine, shortening, fat spread,

and cooking oil.
- Responsible to demonstrate the advantages of AFA’s high-end margarines and shortenings

that could be tailor-made based on clients’ requirement in order to achieve the highest
quality of breads and confectioneries produced by clients
- Responsible in collecting taste data from different regions, countries and ethnic groups in

order develop products according to the preference
- Possesses rights to make final decision within its jurisdictions approved by the Managing

Director
- To form an operational and budget plan regarding matters that have been authorized and

operate in accordance to the Managing Director’s approval
- To rationalize and improve the scope of work, management standards and procedures in

regards to the authorized matters
- To set job descriptions and assign work activities for R&D staff and evaluate any opinions

offered by junior staff before implementation
- To develop and improve R&D staff competencies by providing training plan and on the

training programs
- Maintain good relationships with existing clients by managing their requirements and

complaints
- To maintain work quality and departmental performance by reviewing R&D staff’s yearly

job review
ADEKA FOODS (ASIA) SDN. BHD., was established as a joint venture company by ADEKA Corporation in Japan and IOI Corporation in Malaysia. ADEKA FOODS (ASIA) SDN. BHD. was set up on December 6 2012. ADEKA FOODS (ASIA) SDN. BHD. started to manufacture production of margarine and shortening for breads and confectionary from July 2014 which is mainly focus to be marketed in Southeast of Asia region. Products offered by ADEKA FOODS (ASIA) SDN. BHD. will be sheet-type Margarine which is best use in making Breads, Croissants, Pies and other other pastry products as well as Shortening (carton and tin-type) which is best use in making Breads, pastries and cookies.
