**Key Accountabilities**:

- Responsible for proactively leading the management of risk to people with the team.
- Providing proactive, high quality legal support and advice to the organization in an effective and timely manner.
- Delivering work according to plan and having contingency plans to deliver required output.
- Involved in the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts with contractors, co-venturers and with PETRONAS in all aspects of the company’s business and operations.
- Advising the business to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Effectively managing and monitoring all litigation / disputes.
- Communicates across functions and actively participates in the spread of knowledge, best practice and awareness of legal commitments and initiatives through the business;
- Facilitate the external company secretaries on corporate secretarial matters.
- Supports the Head of Legal & Compliance by providing strategic and proactive legal advice in the management of contracts and the resolution of commercial, legal and compliance related disputes issues.
- Training and supervising the Legal Advisor, who has a direct reporting line to the Legal Manager, charting and managing his/her career development plans, preparing yearly scorecards and conducting mid-year and year end reviews

**Experience / Qualifications**:

- A Malaysian lawyer with a degree in law and called to the Malaysian Bar.
- At least 8 years post qualification experience with a minimum of 3 years in the oil and gas industry
- Fluent in spoken Bahasa Malaysia & English
- A confident communicator with good presentation and negotiation skills
- Team player possessing sound interactive skills with demonstrated ability to contribute and deliver in a multidisciplinary team as well as being able to work independently with minimum supervision.
