This Workshop Manager role work in forklift/heavy equipment industry, include scheduling trucks, planning and coordinating trucks effectively.
- Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities, aligning them with operational needs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure that all repairs and services are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of technicians and mechanics.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop the team’s skills to improve workshop performance.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship.
- Monitor stock levels for spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Liaise with suppliers to source quality parts and negotiate competitive pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of parts used, repair costs, and inventory levels.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for equipment maintenance and safety.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments within the workshop.
- Develop and manage the workshop’s budget, focusing on cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Monitor expenditures and repair costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare reports on expenses, equipment status, and maintenance activities for management review.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment lifespan and reliability.
- Diagnose issues and troubleshoot equipment problems to identify and resolve malfunctions quickly.
- Keep up-to-date with technological advancements and incorporate them into maintenance practices.

**To be successful in this role**:

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Working experience in a Workshop Manager role in forklift/heavy equipment industry.
- **Familiar with SAP system.**:

- Leadership skills with experience managing a team of mechanics and technicians.
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and management.
- **Ability to manage resources efficiently and achieve cost savings without compromising quality.**
