Validate new product designs and developments to ensure the robustness of the new products Maintain a solid understanding of CAD file structures and their relations to Bill of Materials. Business acumen with the new product design implications of cost and decision; research and implement emerging MFG methods and processes to reduce the waste and material costs. Align work objectively with the company strategic goals. Program, set up, produce, and inspect machined components of department VMC equipment. (Twin Spindle Single Turret CNC 7 Axis Lathe, 4 Axis VMC w/Probe). Interpret Engineered Drawings and Specifications. Understand and Operate Precision measuring equipment. Maximize VMC Machine Tool Performance and Capability. Maintain Standard Cutting Tool Inventory. Continually improve Standard tool affectivity. Collaborate with engineering personal to understand requirements and optimize production methods. Understand and employ optimum cutting conditions for the materials specified. Preform General Equipment Preventative Maintenance tasks. Continual training of Engineers in Lead Processing, blueprint reading and interpretation including ordering and control of special processes, including heat treating, grinding, conversion coatings and plating Conducts 12-month Performance Discussions on engineering staff Assists in and promote reducing perishable and hard tooling costs Complies with appropriate company and machine safety policies & procedures Accepts and completes other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by Production Manager.
