As a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency in each meal. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience.
THE JOBSCOPE
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the menu, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest standards of flavor, appearance, and quality.
- Manage the mise en place for your station, ensuring all ingredients are prepped and ready for service.
- Work closely with the Sous Chef, Head Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic, and organized kitchen environment by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Adhere to food safety regulations, including the proper handling, storage, and preparation of raw and cooked food items.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and cleaned to prevent accidents and health hazards.
- Help with the ordering, stocking, and organization of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory to prevent shortages and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Monitor and control food wastage by following portion control and accurate recipe preparation.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- At least 2-3 years of experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
