**Assistant Manager**

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to join our restaurant group’s Kaiseki. An assistant restaurant manager assists the restaurant manager with the overall operations of the restaurant and in ensuring the smooth flow of our service. To excel in this position, you need a high level of customer service skills and a willingness to meet guests' needs quickly and politely. The assistant manager also recruits and trains new employees. This position also requires assisting with inventory management and budgeting for the location.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_

1. _Leading floor service in line with Manager guidance_
- Deliver quality customer service to all guests
- Take reservations and enquire purpose of visit
- Greet each guest promptly and courteously with good smile and body language
- Present menu and share promotions, specials and items to customers
- Memorize food and beverages menu for on-demand recitation
- Take food and beverage orders, repeat orders to guests and inform guest of estimated time to serve
- Schedule shifts and assign table sections to waitstaff and consequently oversee a team of servers who are assigned to his/her shift
- Ensure that the restaurant maintains a fine dining atmosphere and proper standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Take lead in the opening and closing of the restaurant

2. _Proper handling of POS and payment management_
- Key orders in the Point-of-Sale system efficiently
- Process payment and check bills promptly
- Handle problem with cashier payments
- Ensure cash management protocols are always adhered to and balances are correct.
- Conduct payroll activities accurately and on time
- Record all income and expenses and reconciliate/balance these amounts with cash registers at the end of every shift
- 3. General Service Management_
- Assist manager by getting involved in planning and organizing of special events
- Check food and beverage inventories and stocks in a consistent and accurate manner
- Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures and ensure restaurant’s team follows these policies and procedures to avoid any violations
- Complete opening, operating, and closing procedures
- Must contribute to the development of processes and procedures, helping make them clear and easy to follow
- Escalate guests complain to duty manager if unable to conduct service recovery and resolve customer questions and/or complaints professionally in place of manager
- Work closely with the kitchen team on food feedback and improvement
- Ensure all equipment is kept in perfect working condition and to report any deficiencies.
- Place orders for ingredients, utensils and equipment as and when needed
- Source better deals on resources and equipment as needed
- Hire, train and mentor new team members
- **Qualifications**:_
- High school diploma
- Previous supervisory experience in managing a floor team in a fine dining Japanese restaurant is preferred with at least three years of experience in a related field are required
- Prior experience and knowledge of using payroll and POS software
- Basic accounting and arithmetic skills
- Basic knowledge about Kaiseki course and Japanese sake is preferred
- Excellent customer service and hospitality skills and willingness to learn new items on food and service
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills and strong leadership skills with the capacity for development
- Pleasant with a positive and approachable attitude
- Excellent emotional control in fast-paced environments
- Ability to handle and resolve guests' complaints as well as conflict in a professional manner. Ability to also remain impartial during conflict
- Dedication to on-time arrival for shifts, and able to commit to weekends and selected public holidays
- Innovative and trustworthy

**Salary**: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
