**Job Summary**
- Oversee the legal processes of all areas of the company arising from the company’s activities;
- Provide well-rounded legal advice as required by the company’s management;
- Provide support and oversight for, as well as manage and implement a diverse and wide range of legal functions, areas, and activities including the company’s land conveyancing, debt litigation, intellectual property, contract, as well as credit control and management matters;
- Manage and supervise the Conveyancing & Debt Litigation Executive in the management and implementation of all land conveyancing, land charge, land lease/tenancy, and land caveat matters which include, amongst others, disposal and purchase of landed property/realty, and the subsequent perfection of the land transfer; perfection of land charge; entering into a land lease/tenancy; and lodging of a land caveat; drafting, or vetting and reviewing, negotiating, and amendment of land sale and purchase agreements and documentations, land charge agreements and documentations, land lease/tenancy agreements and documentations, and land caveat documentations; as well as the management and implementation of all debt litigation matters which include instructing advocates and solicitors to prepare and send Letters of Demand before Court proceedings, initiating Court proceedings, and managing Court proceedings and execution/enforcement actions, etc.;
- Manage and supervise the Contract Executive in his/her carrying out of tasks in all contractual matters which include, amongst others, drafting, vetting, and amendment of manufacturing agreements, supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.;
- Liaise with the Credit Control Executive in his/her carrying out of tasks in all credit control matters which include, amongst others, overseeing the documentations for the opening of a credit account, credit account review and appraisal, and credit account doubtful debt provision and bad debt write-off.

**Responsibilities**:

- Represent the department as required in liaison with managers and other employees/stake-holders.
- Exercise functional supervision over the Conveyancing & Debt Litigation Executive, Intellectual Property Executive, Contract Executive, and maintain functional liaison with the Credit Control Executive.
- Collaborate with other departments (Finance, Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, etc.) with regard to advising on legal risks and other legal issues relating to the company’s businesses.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal departments of subsidiary or associate companies abroad.
- Anticipate and manage the legal risks connected with, or resulting from, the company’s business strategy and operations, and ensure appropriate courses of action have been taken.
- Ensure compliance of the company’s business operations with relevant laws and regulations.
- Pro-actively create and maintain awareness of the company’s employees for compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensure consistent procedures and communication processes are in place to establish goals, clarify responsibilities, engage subordinates, utilise their strengths, share feedback, and adjust plans.
- Periodically assess the need of the subordinates for particular legal skill courses.
- Assist in administrative matters.
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**
- Proven work experience (preferably a minimum of six (6) years) ideally of real estate, debt litigation, intellectual property, contract, and credit control and management work experience as a Legal Assistant in a local firm of solicitors, or as a Legal Officer, or relevant role.
- Good knowledge of legal and local requirements involved with land conveyancing practice, debt litigation, intellectual property, contract, and credit control and management.

**Competencies**
- Good comprehension on the land law, debt litigation, intellectual property law, contract law, and credit control and management field.
- Excellent formal writing skills.
- Keen attention to details with an ability to spot errors.
- Capable of identifying and explaining the key information in documents.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to work with personnel of varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external parties.
- Ability to deliver high quality work under deadlines.
- Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia and English. Knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) (conversational and written) is a plus.
- Have a broad knowledge of national and international law.
- Have a good personality and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have high responsibility, accuracy, meticulousness, initiative, commitment, and teamwork.
