**Position Summary**:
The newly created role is a key appointment within the newly created Data & Analytics function, contributing to the company’s longer-term growth strategy. This role reports to the Head of Data Governance and will form part of the Data Governance team.

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day operations of the data governance platform. They are hands on in the tool monitoring it on a daily basis, as well as working with the Head of Data Governance to perform bug fixes, upgrades and enhancements against a prioritized backlog of work. As part of this role they have limited interaction with business users, but offer second level support to the helpdesk to resolve issues, leveraging the Semarchy support agreement for 3rd line support.

Additional use cases are encouraged to be run against the master data, and extending the functionality to other domains is likely. The role will be relied upon to deliver their expertise to these projects, in conjunction with their backlog.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the delivery of data governance across QS, including:

- Ensure platform SLA uptime is met
- Proactively monitor infrastructure, making provisions for increased capacity in a timely manner
- Perform a detailed root cause analysis of problems, resolving these where possible. Where not possible, escalating to 3rd party for prompt resolution
- Staying informed of system releases and bug fixes
- Performing upgrades
- Maintain platform documentation
- Design and build enhancements within the platform according to a set of requirements

**Requirements**:

- **You will have a strong academic record to degree level or higher in a related field (eg Maths, Economics or Computer Science) and ideally 2-5 years experience in a data governance support role.**
- You will be keen to develop and grow your expertise in the area of analytics.

- Whilst being a great team player is important to deliver the requirements above, the individual will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work autonomously.
- ** Given the complexity of our business and our desire for high quality output the individual will also need to possess**:

- Experience working collaboratively in Project and/or Software development teams
- Development experience in an object orientated language (C#. Java)
- Experience working in Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as VisualStudio.net, Eclipse or similar
- Must have experience working with relational databases, with active skills using SQL to perform queries
- Must have experience of working with system integrations - ideally REST and batch SQL
- Must have a grounding in data architecture to assist in the evaluation and creation of scalable data models
- Should have experience working in an agile way, managing sprints and stories to prioritise workload
- Should have experience of working in a data-driven environment, ideally with experience of designing and implementing multiple solutions associated to the data domains present
- Experience working with the major cloud computing platforms
- Data management expertise across a range of industries and use cases is desirable
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise own workload
- Effective communicator
