Job Summary:
The Research Administrator will play a critical role in supporting the Research Management Centre (RMC) at Spectrum International University College (SIUC) by managing the administrative functions, coordinating communications, and assisting in documentation and reporting for research-related activities. This position involves close collaboration with internal departments and external agencies, including the Ministry of Higher Education’s BKPI (Research) department, to ensure efficient management of SIUC’s research activities and compliance with national research assessment requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. RMC Administration:

- Receive, organize, and distribute incoming correspondence and documents for the RMC.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as needed.
- Prepare and disseminate weekly announcements related to research activities, events, and other relevant information.
- Maintain organized records of all communications and activities and provide reports to the Director of RMC.

2. Publications Tracking and Documentation:

- Track and record SIUC staff publications by accessing scholarly databases (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science).
- Update and maintain a publications database to ensure accurate records for internal and external reporting.

3. Liaison with Ministry of Higher Education:

- Act as the primary contact point between SIUC’s RMC and the Ministry of Higher Education’s BKPI department.
- Ensure timely submission of necessary documents and follow up on communications to support SIUC’s research objectives.

4. Documentation for MyRA (Malaysia Research Assessment) Exercise:

- Assist in the collection, organization, and preparation of data and documentation for MyRA submissions.
- Work closely with relevant departments to ensure all required data is accurate and ready for assessment.

5. General Administrative Support:

- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation as needed by the Director of RMC.
- Perform general office management duties, such as organizing files, handling inquiries, and supporting project coordination.

6. Additional Duties:

- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Director of RMC to support SIUC’s research mission and goals.

7. Preferred Qualifications:

- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience: Prior experience in research administration or academic support is a plus but not required.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is mandatory; knowledge of English is also required for reporting and documentation.

8. Key Competencies:

- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain detailed records, and meet deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malay to liaise with SIUC staff, Ministry contacts, and other stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online research tools/databases.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and foster a collaborative environment.

9. Additional Requirements:

- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new administrative and research-related tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Pay: From RM2,600.00 per month
