**The position**
- The Sales director in this position is expected to direct the proper and efficient implementation of the approved marketing and sales plans to achieve specific objectives in accordance with company’s policies and procedures. The person will plan, organize and supervise the activities of the entire sales force to ensure optimum use of their time, resources and efforts. Other responsibilities include: directing the development of sales staff, sales plans, strategies, objective, budgets, policies and procedures that conform to marketing objective; Setting objective and sales target in collaboration with General Manager, Marketing Director, Finance Director, Legal, MAPA, Area Professional Sales Manager, Medical Representative and Commercial Effectiveness team; Driving business growth by providing strategic sales input for office within the region.
- Main job tasks are:
**Responsible for affiliate performance together with the rest of the management team**: Represent the management team by living the Novo Nordisk Way and walking the talk; Provide cross-functional support and collaborate with colleagues across the organization
**Sales Planning, Strategy Implementation and Control**:Lead the sales team & sales function for Novo Nordisk to achieve the sales budget, sales forecast & bottom line as allocated by the company. Prepare & allocate sales budget and accounts responsibilities for each member of the sales team & responsible for coming up with yearly sales plan based on Sales Representatives territory plans. Define and follow-up upon quarterly and annual sales and expense budgets of the sales groups
- To contribute to the formulation of the marketing plans with respect to the factors such as sales forecast, expense budgets, promotional activities and market penetration. Provide management with year-end forecasts monthly. Monitor and report market condition, competitor’s activities and reactions to company policies, products and activities; to recommend action steps when required; Ensure that field feedback is transferred from the sales force to the marketing department; Ensure appropriate use of promotion material, detailing order and respect of legislation in force will be important; Participate in National & local meetings & congresses
**People Management**:Coordinate with the marketing team in overall planning and implementing of marketing activities like launch, promotional plans of all Novo Nordisk products, seminars, talks and congresses in relation to the business. Manage field sales office, inside sales office, customer service functions, business relationship with medical, clients, distributions and manufacturers. Coaching and developing Sales Manager & SE’s according to coaching plan and individual development plan. Ensure continuous development/motivation of the sales force to plan an effective and target-oriented execution of sales activities; Evaluate and develop the sales force through co-visiting, frequent contacts and feedback; Implement and follow-up upon structured analysis, support, training and product information to the sales force; Ensure realistic, coordinated and motivating district targets for every SE in the sales force; To keep field personnel establishment under review and recommend temporary or permanent changes in: Territorial boundaries, Deployment and Development of SM & SEs, Check KPIs of each Sales Manager and follow-up regularly
- Other individual assignments: Represent Novo Nordisk Malaysia in all matters relating to sales; Interact with external customers that include but not limited to: Medical doctors, Nurses, Dieticians, Pharmacists, Retail Outlets, Medical Associations, Distributors and Cooperatives
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or Pharmacy or MBA (Marketing or Business Admin)
- 8 Years experience in similar capacity or MNC
- At least 5 years in People Management role with Pharmaceutical/Medical Sales
- Experience in pharmaceutical sales & marketing with proven track records of commercial success
