**Data Analyst**

**About the role**

The role of a data analyst can be defined as someone who has the knowledge and skills to turn raw data into information and insights which can be used to make business decisions using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary systems and sources.

The data analyst develops and maintains databases, data systems - reorganizing data in a readable format - and performing analysis to assess quality and meaningfulness of the data by using statistical tools to identify, analyse, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that would enable business performance to be assessed and compared over periods of time.

The data analyst works with functional operational teams within the organisation to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Provide analytical insights using existing data
- Contribute to and help deliver ETL, data warehouse construction, data cleaning/restructuring and statistical modelling.
- Participate in the development of the Internal Audit and Risk Control data platform.
- Design, automate and maintain critical reports and dashboards for business needs using Microsoft Power BI
- Ensure accuracy of critical reports and dashboards
- Gather business requirements from different functional teams and translate them into suitable data requirements
- Collaborate with and support operations and data-focused teams to identify data gaps and discrepancies
- Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
- Analyse data independently to deliver insights about operational performance and proactively drive improvements
- Effectively plan and collaborate with a global team on data driven initiatives to solve complex operational problems

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting and analytical problem solving
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with large amounts of data and statistical analysis tools and must be highly proficient in Excel, Microsoft Power Bi and any other programming languages such as SQL, R, Python
- 3+ years of experience working in project data-centric projects
- Hands on experience on Microsoft Power Bi
- Experience in building extract, transform, load (ETL) data pipelines
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work and function under pressure
- Able to make analytical recommendations and provide business insights
- Ability to work across organisation and time zones
- Outstanding interpersonal communications skills
- Innovative self-starter and thinker
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentations skills.

**Salary**: RM3,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
