Quantity Surveyor

Cost Estimation: responsible for estimating the costs involved in construction projects. This includes analyzing project specifications, materials, labour, and other factors to provide accurate cost projections.
- Budgeting: develop budgets for construction projects based on cost estimates and client requirements. Work closely with project managers and clients to ensure that projects stay within budget constraints.
- Tendering: prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities (BOQ), specifications, and contract documents. Invite bids from contractors and evaluate tender submissions to recommend suitable contractors for the project.
- Contract Administration: administer contracts between clients, contractors, and subcontractors. Ensure that all parties adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the contract and handle any contractual disputes that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Cost Control: Throughout the construction process, monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure they align with the budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise on cost-effective measures to optimize project finances.
- Variation Orders: manage variation orders, which involve changes to the scope of work or specifications during the construction process. Assess the impact of variations on project costs and timelines and negotiate adjustments with relevant parties.
- Final Account Preparation: At the completion of a project, prepare the final account, which includes compiling all project costs, variations, and adjustments. Reconcile any discrepancies and ensure that final payments to contractors are accurate and fair.
- Risk Management: assess and mitigate financial risks associated with construction projects. Identify potential risks such as cost overruns, delays, or contractual disputes and develop strategies to minimize their impact on the project.
