- Cochlear is seeking a meticulous and proactive Localisation Project Coordinator to support the localisation of product labelling and software. This role is pivotal in ensuring that translated content meets quality, regulatory, and brand standards across global markets. You’ll work closely with the Localisation Project Manager to manage translation workflows and deliverables.
- Key Responsibilities
- ️ Translation Coordination- Coordinate assigned translation projects or specific phases (planning, preparation, translation, verification, finalisation).- Prepare comprehensive translation packages including reference materials, instructions, and briefs.- Liaise with language service providers and regional reviewers to ensure high-quality translations.- Perform quality assurance checks and proofing tasks to ensure compliance with standards.- Coordinate documentation in controlled systems with appropriate version control.- Report on project status and resolve queries with internal and external stakeholders.

Project Coordination- Communicate with content owners and developers, project and product managers, and supply chain teams.- Coordinate quotes and invoices for translation projects.- Ensure regulatory compliance by working with global and regional regulatory specialists.- Build strong relationships with global localisation teams to share best practices and linguistic assets.- Support additional team coordination tasks as needed.

Process Improvement- Contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements and control mechanisms.- Participate in post-project reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.- Provide input on tools and systems to enhance project coordination efficiency.

Team Role
- Individual contributor role with responsibilities for quality assurance, safety compliance, and continuous improvement. Expected to work safely, follow procedures, and report hazards or incidents.

What You’ll Bring
- Required:
- Tertiary qualification in one of the following fields; Translation & Interpretation, Linguistics or Applied Linguistics, English Language & Literature, Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology or Software Engineering (for software localisation).- 2-4 years of experience in project coordination.- Excellent command of written and spoken English.- Strong attention to detail, proofing skills, and problem-solving ability.- Effective interpersonal and organisational skills.

Desired:
- Translation qualifications or accreditation.- Experience with computer-assisted translation CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados) and/or translation management systems.- Familiarity with workflow tools and managing multiple projects simultaneously.- Linguistic awareness or proficiency in other languages.- A proactive “can-do” attitude and problem-solving mindset.- Experience working with external suppliers, especially language service providers.- Exposure to regulated industries such as medical or healthcare.
