Position Title: Kitchen Supervisor
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and efficiency. This position requires culinary expertise, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced F&B environment.
1. Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff to achieve optimal performance.
- Provide guidance and training to kitchen personnel.
2. Food Preparation and Quality Control:
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes to maintain high-quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Monitor food temperatures and storage to comply with health and safety regulations.
3. Menu Planning and Development:
- Collaborate with the Chef or Kitchen Manager to plan and develop menus.
- Monitor customer feedback to make necessary menu adjustments.
4. Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely and sufficient ingredient supplies.
- Minimize waste through effective portion control and proper storage practices.
5. Health and Safety Compliance:
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Train staff on proper hygiene practices and ensure the use of personal protective equipment.
6. Communication:
- Maintain open communication with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Address and resolve any kitchen-related issues promptly.
- Collaborate with management on improving kitchen efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Malaysian culinary preferences and trends.
