The Equipment Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient performance, maintenance, and optimization of Surface treatment equipment and systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and troubleshooting surface treatment equipment to meet production and operational goals, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of surface treatment equipment.
  • Ensure equipment reliability and efficiency to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Oversee the installation, setup, and commissioning of new surface treatment equipment.
  • Develop and execute equipment qualification and validation protocols.
  • Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams for equipment-related issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Develop and update technical documentation, including operating procedures and maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies related to equipment.
  • Lead or participate in equipment improvement and upgrade projects.
  • Prepare budgets, schedules, and reports for equipment projects.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Surface treatment equipment, maintenance, or a related role in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PLC issues related to surface treatment equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for Surface treatment equipment design and modification.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • To be able to drive changes and be a change agent.
