Role Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Pre-Sales Engineer to spearhead the scoping and conceptualization of Building Management System (BMS) and Energy Management System (EMS) solutions for both new developments and retrofit projects. This position is central to shaping client requirements into cost-efficient, compliant, and practical solutions that align with Singapore's regulatory framework and sustainability objectives.

You will develop deep technical expertise in the ENX Sustainability Suite—its architecture, integration pathways, and capabilities—to design compelling solutions that showcase its full value.

Working closely with the Sales and Engineering teams, the Pre-Sales Engineer will play a critical role throughout the sales cycle, engaging with clients from proposal to contract stage to deliver well-defined and effective solution designs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Scoping & Solution Design

• Work with clients and partners to understand operational needs, site conditions, and energy efficiency targets.
• Develop solution architectures and technical proposals for BMS/EMS implementations.
• Convert client needs into feasible solutions that deliver energy savings.
• Conduct site surveys for retrofit projects to evaluate conditions and uncover energy-saving opportunities.

2. Technical Consultation & Demonstration

• Deliver product demonstrations and run technical workshops for client stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on system scalability, interoperability, and compliance with BCA, PUB, and NEA regulations.

3. Tender & Proposal Support

• Create detailed scopes of work, BOMs, and functional specifications.
• Coordinate with Sales and Engineering to ensure clarity on deliverables and project timelines.
• Craft competitive, high-quality proposals.

4. Vendor & Technology Evaluation

• Assess third-party hardware for compatibility, performance, and reliability.
• Recommend sensors, controllers, and IoT devices suited to various application scenarios.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

• Work with consultants, facility teams, and procurement personnel to define and refine technical requirements.
• Collaborate with consultants and contractors to build understanding of ENX solutions.
• Partner with system integrators to co-develop solutions and prepare winning proposals.
• Support handover processes with clear documentation and technical briefings.
• Train partner engineers to equip them for implementation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting tasks.

6. Project Deployment

• Provide technical support to Field Engineers during deployment phases.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in pre-sales or solution engineering within BMS/EMS environments.
• Practical experience with lighting control, ACMV systems, and electrical/water sub-metering.
• Strong understanding of BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and common building automation protocols.
• Solid networking knowledge, including configuration of routers, switches, LTE, and wireless networks.
• Familiarity with Singapore's building regulations, energy efficiency guidelines, and Green Mark standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to explain complex systems in simple terms.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as SCEM or Singapore Energy Auditor.
• Experience working with smart metering solutions and energy analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of chilled water plants, lighting control, ACMV systems, and general building operations.
• Hands-on exposure to ACMV control systems.
