What is the role about?

  • Manages the new product development pipeline portfolio.
  • Provides support for the label artwork checking and keeps abreast of latest food regulations.
  • Develop new products to meet consumer needs and work with production to conduct product trial runs.
  • Develop and improve food products, ensure quality and safety standards and contribute to the company's innovation and continuous growth.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team in new product development or benchmarking product. Create prototypes and conduct sensory evaluations.
  • Keep abreast of current industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies in the food industry. Propose and explore innovative ingredients, processes and packaging solutions. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure that all products meet food regulatory and safety standards. Conduct regular quality checks and analyze data to maintain consistent product quality. Collaborate with the quality control team to address any quality-related issues.
  • Work closely with marketing, production and warehouse teams to align product development with company objectives. Coordinate product trials, scale-ups, and commercialization efforts. Provide technical support to production and troubleshooting assistance when needed.
  • Proactively initiate and follow up on all I&R activities, including lab-scale samples upon stakeholder request.

Are you the one?

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Technology/Food Science/Culinology or related academic background.
  • Over 3-4 years proven track record in I&R/Product Development/Application Specialist in the food industry (specialized in manufacturing plants).
  • Preferable working experience with a strong background in the dairy, ice cream, sauces, or flavor house industry.
  • Monitor quality control procedures to ensure that products meet regulatory and company standards.
  • SAP exposure would be added advantage.
  • Understand food science applications, sensory principles, nutrition, and labeling requirements.
  • Well knowledge in food production and processing, and knowledge of food safety standards/certifications (FSSC, ISO, HACCP, GMP, Halal, etc) is an added advantage.
