About the role

JIB Infra Geotechnics Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Junior Civil & Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform detailed geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, slope stability, deep excavation and ground improvement.
  • Integrate geotechnical findings into structural and civil design, including load transfer, settlement prediction and soil - structure interaction.
  • Prepare civil and structural design drawings, calculations and specifications in accordance with local codes. (e.g. Eurocode, BS, SS).
  • Coordinate soil - structure interface designs with structural and civil teams.
  • Review geotechnical investigation (GI) reports and interpret borehole logs and lab test result for use in design.
  • Evaluate contractor proposal for temporary works, earth retaining stabilizing structures (ERSS) and dewatering systems.
  • Ensure all design works meet applicable codes, standards and project specifications.
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and ensure geotechnical aspect of design are robust and buildable.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Structural Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in civil or structural engineering design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as TEKLA Structure, PLAXIS, STAAD.PRO, ETABS, and AUTOCAD.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design software, and construction methods.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Malaysian Only.
