Job Description

As a Commis, Cook, or Demi-Chef, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and kitchen standards. This role involves working across various stations, assisting in daily kitchen operations, and maintaining a high standard of hygiene, safety, and food quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and basic dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
  • Cook and plate food items according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating stock properly.
  • Ensure workstation is clean, organized, and complies with food safety standards.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, including equipment and tools.
  • Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and be willing to learn new techniques.
  • Support food preparation for events, catering, or special menus when required.
  • Perform any other kitchen-related tasks as assigned by the Chef de Partie or supervisor.

Requirements

  • Basic culinary knowledge or training (formal certification is a plus).
  • Passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Fresh graduate

Pay: RM2, RM3,000.00 per month
