Assistant Human Resources Manager - Penang (Sungai Jawi)

Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership & Advisory

  • Partner with functional leaders to develop and execute an HR strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Serve as a strategic HR advisor, providing insights on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy.
  • Actively influence business strategy to ensure human capital considerations are integrated into decision-making.
  • Provide guidance on career development, succession planning, and leadership development, ensuring a strong talent pipeline.
  • Coaching functional leaders on effective people management practices.

Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning

  • Drive strategic talent management, ensuring the right talent is identified, recruited, developed, and retained.
  • Oversee key HR processes, including performance management, employee engagement, total rewards, and capability development.
  • Analyze talent market trends and workforce data to provide actionable insights for MD.
  • Work closely with functional team leaders to ensure HR programs meet business needs and drive organizational effectiveness.

HR Programs & Change Management

  • Design and implement HR policies, programs, and practices that support long-term business objectives.
  • Lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new HR solutions and workforce transformations.
  • Effectively handle and resolve escalation/hotline cases that are directed to regional HR and to provide leadership support in key employee incidents

Stakeholder & HR Collaboration

  • Act as the key HR representative at the business table, influencing and shaping people decisions.
  • Partner with geography HR teams to align global HR strategies with local market needs.
  • Ensure HR processes comply with employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal governance.
  • Agility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving business landscape.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • AROUND 5-8 years of HR experience, with FEW YEARS AT JUNIOR MANAGEMENT LEVEL.
  • Good command of English and Chinese and Malaysian (read, write and speak).
  • Experience working in fast-paced technology, or multinational organizations.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business strategy into actionable HR plans.
  • Deep expertise in talent strategy, leadership development, organizational design, and employee engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leveraging HR data and market trends to drive decisions.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment regulations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Develop working relationships across key cities with government officials where necessary and familiar with labor law.
  • The experiences of management of outsourcing partner in HR field.
