JOB PURPOSE

Primary responsibility is running the desk's proprietary Credit Trading, Credit Derivatives and cross markets trading portfolio to increase Treasury's profitability. Desk mandate includes cross markets trading in other asset classes for hedging, arbitrage and risk taking. Active position taking across the fixed income/structuring product spectrum including corporate, sovereign and quasi-sovereign cash bonds both listed and over-the-counter derivatives.

Secondary responsibility is to quote competitive Private Debt Securities (PDS) and Credit Derivatives pricing to internal and external customers.    

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To run and manage proprietary fixed income/structuring product, credit derivatives, and cross markets trading to generate profits.
  • To quote competitive Private Debt Securities (PDS) and Credit Derivatives pricing to internal and external customers.
  • To monitor and manage Bank's Credit Trading and Credit Derivatives trading exposure.
  • To assist Sales Team in marketing and market -making to improve market liquidity and maintain good rapport with clients.
  • To assist Sales Team in building and retaining relationship with customers by providing competitive pricing and market commentaries.
  • To provide competitive pricing and hedges to Division and other Strategic Business Units.
  • Ensure internal and external customers are served professionally and quoted competitive pricing at all time.
  • To maintain good rapport with agent banks and other strategic partners to ensure limits and tenor are sufficient as well as to support funding requirements. Keep abreast of market development and update line manager(s) on key issues which may affect Treasury business areas.
  • To assist the Head of Division, Head of Department preparing the financial budget and action planning.
  • To ensure other duties/responsibilities assigned by the Head of Division/Head of Department are completed on time.
  • Ensure compliance to BNM, Bank's policies and Dealers Code of Ethics in carrying out the daily operations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications and Experience

A Degree (preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics or Mathematics) Certificate/License from Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia. At least 5 years dealing experience in Credit Trading, Credit Derivatives, interest rates and/or derivatives.

  • Technical/Functional Skills

Strong technical knowledge of treasury products. (PDS, bonds, swaps, futures and derivatives) Trading experience and technical analysis skills. Proven track records of achieving revenue targets. Posses strong IT skills – proficient user of MS Excel, Bloomberg, electronic trading platforms, trade and capture systems.

  • Personal Skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills; Meticulous and analytical with a quantitative inclination; Posses good teamwork spirit and initiative; Self motivated and able to work independently; Excellent command of English.
