Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Senior Manager/ Manager to oversee the planning, design, and execution of tooling and product development projects. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing tooling budgets, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality molds and products that meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tooling design, injection molding processes, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

New Tooling and Product Development:

  • Lead the development of new tooling and products from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets project and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases to ensure accuracy and feasibility.

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and organize tooling projects according to customer and project requirements.
  • Coordinate activities with mold makers, including scheduling, design resolution, and tooling trials.
  • Collaborate with planners and project teams to schedule and execute weekly tool trials.

Tooling Design and Problem Solving:

  • Work closely with injection molding, process, and technical teams to resolve tooling-related issues.
  • Provide technical expertise to optimize tooling design for manufacturability and performance.
  • Conduct design reviews and implement improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Control expenditures within the tooling budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Monitor tooling costs and provide regular updates to management.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit tooling progress reports, including TTNF (Tooling Transfer Notification Form), to customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of tooling designs, changes, and project milestones.

Department Management:

  • Manage overall department functions, including resource allocation, team performance, and workflow optimization.
  • Mentor and train team members to enhance their technical and project management skills.

Additional Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by management to support organizational goals

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in tooling design, product development, or injection molding. Proven experience in managing tooling projects and leading engineering NPI teams.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of tooling design, mold flow analysis, and injection molding processes.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Solid team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
