About the role

The Event Setup Team at Paradigm Event Agency (Butterworth) is responsible for the assembly, installation, and breakdown of event spaces and equipment. As a full-time Event Setup Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of high-profile events within the Northern Malaysia area. This hands-on position requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assemble and install event equipment, such as stages, lighting, audio systems, and furniture
  2. Assist with the layout and design of event spaces to meet client specifications
  3. Ensure all event equipment is properly maintained, stored, and transported
  4. Collaborate with the broader event production team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during setup and breakdown
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to protect both the event assets and personnel
  6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of event setup processes and workflows

What we're looking for

  1. Previous experience in a similar event setup or technical production role
  2. Strong manual dexterity and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy equipment
  3. Familiarity with the use and maintenance of common event production tools and equipment
  4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address challenges in a fast-paced environment
  5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors
  6. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
