Job Description – Application Maintenance / Production Support Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Application Maintenance / Production Support Analyst with strong technical skills in shell scripting, DOS commands, and telnet. The role involves ensuring application stability, environment readiness, batch job coordination, and supporting SIT/UAT activities. The candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating with multiple teams to maintain smooth operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironment Monitoring & Stability

  • Participate in the setup, enhancement, and configuration of application/environment monitoring tools (e.g., GENEOS).
  • Continuously monitor environments to ensure systems are healthy, available, and performing optimally.
  • Identify abnormalities, raise timely alerts, and coordinate resolution with technical teams.

Batch Job Management (SIT & UAT)

  • Manage batch job setup requests from developers for open-system SIT and UAT environments (e.g., RIM).
  • Validate all batch job requests to ensure they meet quality standards:
  • Proper classification (adhoc vs permanent jobs)
  • Detailed error information required for debugging
  • Monitor batch job execution and perform timely escalation for failures or delays.
  • Maintain and update a consolidated batch jobs inventory for SIT/UAT cycles.

End-of-Day (EOD) Operations

  • Publish SIT and UAT EOD calendars to TCOE and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the PEMS team for project-specific adhoc EOD runs.

Environment & Connectivity Readiness

  • Act as the primary coordinator for setting up project environments and connectivity across all applications involved.
  • Consolidate, publish, and track environment readiness reports.
  • Escalate environment or connectivity issues to Project Managers proactively and in a timely manner.

Issue Tracking & Governance

  • Track, update, and follow up on all environment-related issues using Jira.
  • Provide regular status updates and contribute to transparency across teams.

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

  • Shell scripting
  • DOS commands
  • Telnet commands
  • Basic understanding of system monitoring and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with environment and batch job operations (SIT/UAT)

Other Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced testing and production-like environments
  • Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
  • Detail-oriented, with strong documentation and reporting skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2–6 years of experience in application maintenance, production support, or environment support
  • Experience working in complex multi-application project environments is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM5, RM12,000.00 per month
