1. Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a quantitatively strong professional with deep understanding of balance sheet dynamics, interest rate risk, and behavioural analytics. They must possess the credibility to engage senior stakeholders while maintaining hands-on ability to build and refine analytical tools that drive strategic decisions. The candidate should demonstrate maturity, collaboration, and leadership readiness to guide the analytics team, ensuring continuity of BSN's data-driven ALM and pricing transformation agenda.

2. Purpose of the Role

To lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of analytical frameworks that strengthen BSN's balance sheet management, profitability optimisation, and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will drive the advancement of analytics across asset-liability management and liquidity risk areas, including (but not limited to) Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR), Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR), Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Risk-Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC), behavioural maturity, risk-informed pricing, and stress testing.

This role plays a key part in ensuring BSN's analytical capability evolves in line with the Bank's risk appetite, strategic priorities, and data-driven decision-making agenda.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, enhancement, and maintenance of quantitative models and associated data frameworks
  • Deliver analytical insights that support strategic balance sheet decisions, capital allocation, and risk-informed pricing
  • Conduct independent risk assessments for:

o  New products or variations of existing products

o  Pricing proposals, campaigns, and rate strategy placements

o  Entry into or exit from business or product lines

o  Funding proposals such as securitisation and Sukuk issuances

o  Other initiatives that materially impact the Bank's balance sheet, liquidity, or profitability

  • Evaluate proposals comprehensively, beyond pricing and profitability; to include operational, liquidity, funding, and strategic implications
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of ALM, Head of Market Risk, Finance, Product, and other key stakeholders to ensure balanced, risk-informed recommendations
  • Provide independent, data-driven insights and communicate recommendations clearly in management papers and ALCO submissions
  • Continuously enhance BSN's balance sheet analytics, behavioural modelling, and risk assessment frameworks to support strategic and regulatory deliverables

4. Minimum Requirements

  • Academic Qualification:

o  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related quantitative field

o  Postgraduate qualification or professional certification (CFA, FRM, PRM, CQF) is an added advantage

  • Experience:

o  Minimum
10 – 12
years of relevant experience in balance sheet management, ALM, or related financial analytics

o  Strong technical and quantitative foundation with practical exposure to banking products and balance sheet modelling

o  Proven hands-on experience in ALM, IRRBB, LCR, NSFR, liquidity risk frameworks, and risk-informed pricing models

o  Sound understanding and practical application of RAROC, behavioural maturity, and comprehensive risk assessments will be highly advantageous

o  Demonstrated ability to apply business judgment in assessing financial and strategic proposals

o  Strong business acumen and writing flair, capable of highlighting critical insights, risks, and recommendations clearly and persuasively

o  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of seniority

5. Technical Competencies

  • Proficient in quantitative modelling and data analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI, Excel VBA)
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet dynamics, regulatory ratios, and profitability metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights for senior management
