Job Summary:

  • To manage daily operations of the Swiss-Grand Lifestyle & Souvenir Store by delivering warm guest service, maintaining premium visual standards, and supporting revenue generation through curated retail experiences.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum SPM
  • Diploma in Retail Management, Hospitality, Business, Tourism or related field is an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage
  • Minimum 1-2 years of working experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Retail operations within a hotel or resort environment
  • Basic sales principle
  • Basic stock control and inventory management
  • Understanding of SKU, pricing, tagging and stock labelling
  • Upselling skills
  • Customer service skills

Standard Job Responsibilities:

  1. Retail Operations

  2. Operate POS system accurately (cash, card, room charge)

  3. Handle daily opening & closing of store
  4. Ensure pricing, Stock keep units (SKU label/code), and displays are correct

  5. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all retail zones

  6. Visual Merchandising & Presentation

  7. Maintain premium store appearance aligned with Swiss-Grand branding

  8. Ensure merchandise is neatly arranged by zone:
  9. Essentials & Convenience
  10. Kids & Beach Corner
  11. Resort Branded Merchandise
  12. Premium Resort Collection
  13. Replenish shelves and rotate displays as per planogram

  14. Highlight featured / seasonal items (festive, beach season, promotions)

  15. Guest Experience & Sales

  16. Greet guests warmly and assist with product recommendations

  17. Upsell resort-branded and premium items where appropriate
  18. Explain product usage (linen, pillow, bathrobe, beach items)

  19. Handle guest feedback or issues professionally

  20. Inventory & Stock Control

  21. Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items

  22. Assist in receiving, checking, and storing merchandise
  23. Support monthly stock count and basic inventory records

  24. Ensure fast-moving items are always available

  25. Hotel Integration

  26. Coordinate with Front Office for guest enquiries and room charges

  27. Support promotions tied to hotel events, festive seasons, or packages
  28. Maintain brand image consistent with lobby and resort ambience
  29. Any other duties task as and when assigned or required from time to time

Key Responsibilities/Major Tasks:

  1. Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.

  2. Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel management team.

  3. Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.

  4. Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.

  5. Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
