About the role

This full-time Purchasing Executive role at APM CORPORATE SERVICES SDN BHD in Port Klang, Selangor is an exciting opportunity to join a leading company in the manufacturing industry. You will play a key part in the purchasing team, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

What you'll be doing

Group Procurement Subsidiaries & Group Centralize Purchase

  • Responsible under Group Procurement Subsidiaries and support with other plant/subsidiaries purchasing process.
  • Monitor & Responsible to identify the potential item to categorize under Group Centralize Purchase.

Purchase Request form (PR) & Purchase Order (PO) Process :

  • Review approved purchase requisitions and generate POs in the system, ensuring accurate details such as quantities, pricing, delivery dates, and payment terms.
  • Monitor the progress of PO's when required, including price changes, delivery schedules, or changes in specification, and ensure that the changes are communicated effectively to both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Check daily outstanding PR and PO.

Supplier/Procurement Sourcing

  • Research and identify potential or vendors that meet company requirements.
  • Generate and issue RFQs to suppliers for required goods and services following specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct price negotiations and maintain relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Negotiation price with suppliers under authorized amount/within the limits.

Data Analysis & Reporting (Quotation Analysis)

  • Analyze pricing data and provide detailed reports on price variations, including cost savings opportunities & cost impact.
  • Identify pricing patterns, trends, and fluctuations and cost impact for superior review.
  • Prepare & present in committee for quotation analysis (required based on authorized amount).

Shipping Documentation & Process

  • Manage the shipping process for purchased goods, ensuring that products are delivered to the correct location on time.
  • Liaised with approved freight forwarder.
  • Update the SST tax exemption list for related item under cost exemption.
  • Request related document for shipping documentation to provide to freight forwarder.
  • Familiar with importation of product, local custom & MIDA requirements.
  • Familiar with all shipping term and negotiate with supplier regarding shipping delivery term.

Compliance and Documentation (Filing)

  • Ensure that all price comparisons and supplier evaluations comply with the company's purchasing policies and standards.
  • Document price comparison findings and supplier evaluations for future reference and auditing purpose.
  • Maintain accurate records and proper filling of POs. quotation of Purchasing Department.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management, with at least 2 years in a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience working in diverse industries (manufacturing, construction, engineering, automotive industries, etc) is preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value contracts, sourcing strategies and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Able to multitask, work independently as well as team player.
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor negotiations.
  • Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office tools (excel, word and power point).
  • Ability to analyse data to a assess supplier performance and procurement processes.
  • Ability to lead the Project assigned by Superior within procurement team.
  • Proficiency in managing procurement LN Procurement System projects.
