OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To assist the Legal Department of Deleum Group ("Group") in contract drafting, reviewing and administration, managing documentation, compliance tracking, and legal research.

This role supports the team in ensuring smooth legal operations and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

Contract Management

  1. Drafting, reviewing, vetting and organizing all legal matters, contracts, agreements and legal documents arising from the day-to-day business and operations of the Group, including agency agreements, distributorship agreements, customer contracts, joint venture/shareholders agreements, MOUs, non-disclosure agreements, administration documents, industrial relations and insurance.
  2. Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of executed contracts.
  3. Reviewing and providing legal recommendations and proposals on all tenders arising from the Group's business, including attending tender briefings, committee meetings and discussions.
  4. Providing general legal support, including regulatory and compliance matters, as necessary across all business units.

Legal Research

  1. Conducting legal research on laws, regulations, industry standards and summarise findings for internal use.

Compliance Support

  1. Assisting with renewal or new application of licenses and registrations with Petronas and other relevant agencies.
  2. Assisting in in the review of relevant policies, codes, procedures and guidelines of the Group.
  3. Reviewing court documents and managing status updates.

Coordination and Liaison

  1. Liaising with external solicitors on legal matters concerning the Group, where required.
  2. Assist in carrying out any awareness or education initiatives of Group Legal.

Others

Performing other legal tasks as assigned from time to time by Group Legal.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

  1. Possesses a good attitude, is proactive and willing to learn;
  2. Has 1 to 3 years of legal practice experience, either in an established legal firm and/or as in-house counsel;
  3. Highly proficient in spoken and written English;
  4. Demonstrates excellent understanding of contract, commercial and corporate laws;
  5. Shows strong attention to detail.
  6. Experience in data protection or cybersecurity is an added advantage.

ACADEMIC / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

  1. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Law;
  2. Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is an added advantage.
