IT Project Manager

Overview

The IT Project Manager (Infrastructure) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering infrastructure-related projects within the banking environment. This role ensures that infrastructure upgrades, migrations, security enhancements, data center operations, and network transformations are delivered on time, within budget, securely, and in compliance with banking regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution

• Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects such as data center upgrades, server/storage refresh, network modernization, cloud integration, virtualization, DR setup, and IT security initiatives.
• Develop project plans, timelines, resource plans, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.

2. Banking Operations Support

• Ensure all infrastructure changes adhere to banking regulatory requirements (e.g., BNM/RMiT, compliance, audit).
• Manage changes following CAB/ITIL processes, ensuring minimal downtime to critical banking applications and services.
• Oversee project documentation including risk assessments, impact analysis, and security compliance checks.

3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage external vendors for hardware/software procurement, implementation, and support.
• Conduct vendor evaluations, negotiate contracts, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Engage business units, operations, security teams, compliance, and senior management to align project objectives with business needs.

4. IT Security & Infrastructure Governance

• Ensure infrastructure projects incorporate cybersecurity controls such as Privileged Access Management (PAM), network segmentation, hardening, patching, and endpoint protection.
• Support internal/external audits, DR tests, penetration tests, and compliance reviews.
• Enforce IT governance frameworks and ensure adherence to corporate standards and regulatory guidelines.

5. Budgeting & Reporting

• Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
• Provide timely project status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries to management.
• Escalate critical issues and propose mitigation strategies.

Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of banking infrastructure:
• Servers (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
• Network (LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, switches)
• Storage & backup solutions
• Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/Private Cloud)
• Data center operations
• Disaster Recovery, High Availability & Load Balancing
• Familiarity with IT Security domains (PAM, IAM, SIEM, patching, hardening).

Project Management Skills

• Proficient in Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong experience with project governance, RAID logs, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management skills.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Experience working with banking regulatory frameworks (e.g., Bank Negara Malaysia – RMiT, compliance requirements, audit standards).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release Management).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Professional certifications preferred:
• PMP / PRINCE2
• ITIL v3/v4
• Scrum Master (optional)
• Cisco/VMware/Azure/AWS certifications (bonus).
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3–5 years in project managemen

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM6, RM15,593.96 per month
