This role is responsible for carrying out strategic roles in supporting, creating and managing end-to-end strategic transformation programme and performance management from its creation to execution and implementation of strategic plans of an internal audit division. The function includes identifying clear material benefits and values aligned with internal audit's headline strategy and strategic initiatives to continuously improve its internal processes and align with its mission and vision. The role is highly visible across the function and will report to Strategic Project Director and work closely with the other internal audit team in MY and other internal audit team regionally.

Assist Regional Head in performing the following:

Strategy and Planning

•    Periodical review of GCAD's Policy and Procedures and ensure consistent establishment and implementation across regional offices 

•    Management and implementation of GCAD's strategic initiatives, across regional offices. The initiatives are expected to be in line with best/leading internal audit practices 

•    Continuous support to the respective Head of Departments and the countries' CA Heads in ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of audit execution and quality deliverables

•    Overall oversight on the execution of GCAD's operating model consistently across the region

Business Performance and Management

•    Identify improvement, provide input/feedback to Professional Practices team to ensure regional nuances, regulatory requirements are considered/incorporated before a global policy change is rolled out

•    Suggest areas of improvements in audit methodology and Quality Assurance Review's approach

•    Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) coverage on certain audit throughout audit life cycle

•    Identify and recommend cross border audit approach

•    Identify enhancement in management reports to GCIA, management committees and Audit Committee 

•    Review on audit plan tracking, status monitoring and reporting to ensure timely audit delivery.   

•    Stay close to significant issues coming out from audit reports, work closely with the respective countries' Head of Audit, to translate the issues into themes and key messages to be included in our various reporting to boards, management and regulators

•    Work closely with Professional Practices as well as other Head of Departments to identify and report common audit observations and, subsequently, ensure holistic fixing across the Group

People Management

•    Assess the overall GCAD's resources needs in order to ascertain the division headcount budget and implement the resources retention strategies

•    Build in longer term strategy needs in the recruitment process and ensure the right levels and skillsets requirements are incorporated during hiring process

•    Monitor the mixture of audit staff levels to be in line with the division strategy 

•    Setting and enhance the divison's KPI across staff levels

And perform any other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by the Strategic Project Director from time to time.
