Job Description

Responsibilities

·       Lead and manage the company's Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) programs to ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulations such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Environmental Quality Act (EQA), Factory and Machinery Act (FMA), and other relevant laws.

·       Develop, implement, and continuously improve SHE policies, procedures, and management systems aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

·       Plan and execute regular risk assessments (HIRARC, CHRA) and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.

·       Drive the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determine root causes, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

·       Provide leadership, guidance, and training to employees and contractors on SHE practices, emergency preparedness, and safe work procedures. Monitor and report on SHE performance indicators; prepare monthly and annual reports for management review.

·       Liaise with relevant government authorities (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, local councils) and ensure timely submission of statutory reports, licenses, and permits.

·       Oversee environmental management programs including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.

·       Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and coordinate emergency drills and crisis response activities.

·       Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization.

·       Manage SHE budgets, resources, and audit programs to ensure alignment with company objectives and compliance requirements.

·       Support senior management in strategic planning and implementation of SHE initiatives across all sites.

Requirements

·       Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

·       Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with a valid DOSH Green Book (mandatory).

·       Minimum 5–8 years of working experience in Safety, Health & Environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

·       Strong knowledge of Malaysian legislation and standards related to SHE (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, EQA 1974, etc.).

·       Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

·       Proven track record in leading incident investigations, risk assessments (HIRARC, CHRA), and internal audits.

·       Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities with a proactive and hands-on approach.

·       Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with all levels of staff, contractors, and authorities.

·       Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and SHE management systems.

·       Possess own transport and willing to travel to multiple sites as required.

·       Additional certifications such as ISO Lead Auditor, First Aid, or Fire Safety Coordinator, AGTES, Environmental Officer (CePSWaM), (CePIETS-BP), etc. will be an added advantage.
