About the role

Paradigm Event Agency is seeking an Accountant Manager/Executive to join our growing team in Butterworth, Penang. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the company's financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial data to support strategic business decisions.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Maintaining accurate general ledger and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Assisting with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial analysis as required
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
  • Providing financial guidance and support to department managers and the executive team
  • Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff, if applicable

What we're looking for

  • Professional accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting or financial management role, preferably in the events or hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and best practices
  • Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting
  • Experience in supervising and developing accounting staff, if applicable
