Data Engineer – Malaysia (5–12 Vacancies, Contract with High Conversion Potential)

global technology solutions provider with strong presence across APAC
, delivering scalable digital infrastructure, analytics, and AI-driven solutions for enterprise customers. They are currently expanding their team to support a
renowned retail MNC
in health, beauty, and supermarket sectors.

Role Overview:

We are seeking multiple
Data Engineers
to design, build, and maintain scalable
data pipelines and platforms
that power advanced analytics and AI-driven business solutions. This is a
1-year renewable contract
, with a high chance of conversion to permanent roles within the end client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain
    batch and streaming data pipelines
    .
  • Implement and optimize
    data models
    to support analytics, BI, and machine learning workloads.
  • Integrate and transform data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, event streams, flat files).
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines to ensure
    scalability, reliability, and availability
    .
  • Apply
    data validation, quality checks, and security best practices
    .
  • Collaborate with analysts, BI developers (Tableau, MicroStrategy), and business teams.
  • Provide
    light support for legacy systems
    (Oracle/MicroStrategy).

Must-Have Skills & Tools:

ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, Airflow, Composer, ADF, Data Factory, Spark, Databricks, Dataflow, Kafka, Flink, SQL, Python, Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), Tableau (plus)

Required Experience & Eligibility:

  • Experience:
    2–8 years in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT development, or related roles.
  • Cloud:
    Hands-on with
    AWS, GCP, or Azure
    .
  • Languages & Tools:
    SQL, Python; orchestration tools (Airflow, Composer, ADF, Data Factory).
  • Seniority:
    Junior to Senior Data Engineer.
  • Eligibility:
    Malaysian Citizens ONLY
