Writer (Fully Remote)

Role Overview:

The Financial Coconut is looking for a sharp, SEO-savvy Writer to craft high-quality content across our blog, newsletters, and research-style reports. You'll turn complex finance, careers, and personal growth topics into clear, engaging pieces for a primarily Singaporean audience (with regional relevance), while driving measurable organic growth.

You'll own the full content lifecycle: research, outlining, interviewing/internal sourcing, drafting, SEO optimisation, light visuals/tables, publishing, and post-launch optimisation based on analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Long-Form Blog Writing: Produce well-researched, original articles (1,200–2,500+ words) with clear structures, data citations, internal/external links, and takeaways.
• Newsletter Ownership: Plan, write, and ship weekly/bi-weekly newsletters (briefs, deep dives, curations, and promos). Craft compelling subject lines and A/B test for opens and CTR.
• Reports & Guides: Turn data and our podcast insights into downloadable reports, how-to guides, and thematic deep dives (e.g., CPF updates, cost-of-living trends, SGX developments).
• Analytics-Driven Iteration: Track performance via GA4/GSC; update older content to win snippets, improve dwell time, and grow conversions (newsletter sign-ups, report downloads).
• Editorial Ops: Maintain the content calendar; coordinate with editors/design; ensure style guide, brand voice, and E-E-A-T standards are met.
• Research & Fact-Checking: Monitor Singapore/regional finance news and policy changes; verify all claims with reputable sources and cite appropriately.
• Light Visual Support: Create simple charts/tables or collaborate on visuals that strengthen comprehension (no heavy design required).

Requirements:

• Experience: 2–4 years writing for blogs/newsletters/reports in finance, business, or careers (portfolio required).
• SEO Proficiency: Hands-on with keyword research, on-page SEO, internal linking, and basic schema/technical checks; comfortable using Ahrefs/SEMrush and Google Search Console.
• Writing Excellence: Ability to explain complex financial concepts in plain English with a professional yet conversational tone.
• Audience Fluency: Familiar with Singapore's financial landscape (CPF, SGX, wages, cost of living) and global context.
• Research Rigor: Strong source evaluation, data literacy, and fact-checking discipline.
• Tools: Familiarity with GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and one ESP (Mailchimp/ConvertKit/Beehiiv).
• Workflow: Comfortable working remotely, meeting deadlines, managing an editorial calendar, and collaborating async.
• Nice-to-Haves: Experience with Hubspot, basic HTML/CMS, A/B testing

Success Metrics (KPIs)

• Growth in organic sessions and ranked keywords (esp. for target clusters).
• Improvements in CTR, time on page, scroll depth, and featured snippets captured.
• Newsletter open/CTR and subscriber growth.
• Report downloads and inbound links/mentions.
• % of content refreshes delivering uplift.

Pay: RM2, RM4,000.00 per month
