IT Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure (e.g., servers, storage, and network devices);
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, such as network outages and hardware failures;
  • Support daily IT operations, including user access management, backups, patching, and hardware maintenance;
  • Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers;
  • Administer and monitor network systems, including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN connections;
  • Perform regular system performance checks and proactively identify potential issues;
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and network-related support;
  • Maintain IT documentation, such as network diagrams, asset inventory, and incident logs;
  • Maintain up-to-date procedural guidelines and ensure documentation reflects current processes;
  • Ensure infrastructure security and compliance with IT policies and best practices;
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and disaster recovery planning;
  • Assist with the setup of new hardware and software, and perform routine system maintenance to ensure optimal performance;
  • Support hardware inventory management, including tracking repairs, replacements, and equipment assignments;
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and IT best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field;
  • 2-4 years of experience in network engineering or similar role;
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF);
  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network hardware;
  • Experience with VPN technologies and remote access solutions;
  • Proficiency in managing cloud services (e.g., Google Cloud, Vultr, or AWS) is a plus;
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and backup solutions is an advantage;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Excellent attention to detail and effective time management skills;
  • Proficient in English, and able to speak in Mandarin would be an advance (to deal with Mandarin speaking Management/client).
