Vacancy: Software developer / Programmer with Engineering background

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Software Developer with a basic understanding of structural or building engineering. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about programming, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to learn and apply new technologies.

Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you will learn about wide variety of engineering projects and engineering workflows essential to delivering them successfully.

Your tasks will include developing engineering software tools with intuitive graphical user interfaces, automating repetitive engineering tasks and ensuring the ongoing maintenance and upgrades of these solutions. You will receive detailed automation requests and transform them into practical, user-friendly software tools for engineers.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a software developer with a degree in computer science or software engineering, and prior involvement in or familiarity with engineering projects. Professional proficiency in English is required, along with preferably some experience with either structural engineering software (e.g., IdeaStatica or SciaEngineer) or drawing and modelling software (e.g., Tekla Structures or AutoCAD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve software applications using Python.
  • (Preferred) Develop and customize solutions using Tekla Structures API.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand technical requirements and provide effective software solutions.
  • Work independently while managing tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Produce clear, well-documented, and maintainable code and GUI.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Python programming for automation and tool development; familiarity with C# is a plus.
  • Experience with API integration, data handling, and automation tasks.
  • Experience with Tekla Structures API (advantage, not mandatory).
  • Language: English (Full professional proficiency)
  • Ability to work independently and in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of structural engineering principles, standards, and workflows.
  • Permanent resident of Malaysia.
