Key Responsibilities

Malaysia Finance & Taxation

  • Manage the full spectrum of Malaysia subsidiary tax matters, including tax compliance (e.g., annual filing), tax policy research, tax planning, and coordination with external tax agents and authorities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and compliance of financial books in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS). Oversee system updates or adjustments to finance/business IT systems.
  • Liaise with the Group Finance Centre (covering General Ledger, AP/AR, and Expense Accounting teams).
  • Review daily transactions, make necessary local adjustments, and prepare Malaysia statutory reports.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits.
  • Resolve reconciliation discrepancies with the Group's AR team and standardize financial procedures across retail stores.
  • Monitor and interpret Malaysia's latest tax and regulatory developments (e.g., e-Invoicing), assess potential impacts, and propose timely countermeasures.
  • Provide necessary financial and administrative support for Malaysia office operations.

Hong Kong & Singapore Finance Support

  • Review Hong Kong and Singapore financial reports prepared by the Group Finance Centre and ensure accuracy in accordance with local standards.
  • Where capacity allows, provide support for audit and tax compliance matters for Hong Kong and Singapore entities.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Malaysian financial reporting standards and tax regulations, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in finance and taxation, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Proficient in SAP and familiar with POS systems.
  • Fluent in Malay, English, and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in learning, Singapore and Hong Kong accounting standards.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, proactive, and able to work independently with a positive attitude.

  • Prior experience handling Malaysia e-Invoicing implementation or compliance.
