Project Manager (Civil Construction & Facility Management)

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Project Manager (Civil Construction) to lead and coordinate our civil works and refurbishment projects within Johor Port Berhad for this contract. The ideal candidate is hands-on, disciplined, and able to manage fast-track environments while maintaining strong stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and execute all civil construction activities in Johor Port.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, work programmes, and progress reports.
  • Oversee site operations, manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure on-time completion.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Johor Port regulations, safety requirements, and permit procedures.
  • Monitor quality of work and ensure all workmanship meets required standards.
  • Manage project documentation including method statements, permits, technical submissions, and progress claims.
  • Resolve site issues quickly through effective decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Control project cost and prevent variations or delays through proper planning.
  • Lead weekly site meetings and report updates to management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, M&E, QS , Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in civil construction; experience in port projects/industrial facilities is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of work sequencing, civil construction methods, and safety practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and project documentation.
